The pilot training facility runs as a 24-hour, seven-day per week operation. In order to accommodate this operation, American needs additional flexibility for scheduling Simulator Technicians.
In the coming months, we expect a number of factors will contribute to an increase in pilot training requirements, including pilot movement, the arrival of new fleets types and new FAA pilot rest rules.
The increased flexibility and productivity we gain from the changes to holidays and minimum staffing levels will allow us to run a more efficient operation.
